Massive funk from Soul Excitement a single that really lives up to the promise of the group’s name! “Stay Together” starts slow and heavy with this weird sing-song part that almost makes you think the song’s a tripped-out one but then suddenly, the whole thing explodes, and the band picks up the pace tremendously really jamming over some tight funky drums, while the members call out some super-righteous lyrics! “Smile” is more straight soul, but still really great a deep deep deep number that almost sounds like a lost treasure from the vault of Stax Records!
