Description

The Smashing Pumpkins build Gish from heavy guitar layering, dream-pop influence, and Billy Corgan’s high, urgent vocal lines, placing the debut between late-80s alternative rock and the heavier direction that followed. Produced with Butch Vig, the record uses thick guitar overdubs, rhythmic drive, and songs that shift between short hooks and longer instrumental passages.
