Composed of 10 new tracks and clocking in at 42 minutes, Pink Elephant is produced by Win Butler, Rgine Chassagne and Daniel Lanois. The album marks Arcade Fire’s first LP since 2022’s WE, which reached No. 6 on the Billboard 200. This Indie Exclusive “Total Meltdown” edition features red transparent and pink opaque twister effect vinyl in a gatefold jacket, along with an alternate cover, pink foil stamped artwork, and a perfect bound 64-page book with art, photographs, lyrics, and credits. Machine numbered out of 6000 on the back cover, this limited pressing offers a complete collector’s package. The title Pink Elephant refers to that paradoxical effect where the effort to suppress a thought leads to it being impossible to avoid.

“Year of the Snake” features Rgine Chassagne as main vocalist and bassist, with Win Butler on drums and secondary vocals, while the title track delivers a Pixies-esque, restrained, guitar-focused approach. The album includes three instrumental pieces: the cinematic drone of “Open Your Heart or Die Trying,” “Beyond Salvation,” and the celestial “She Cries Diamond Rain.” Other highlights include “Circle of Trust,” “Ride or Die,” and the closing epic “Stuck in My Head.” Daniel Lanois applies a near-magical touch to the record, speckling it with stereo delays and assorted abstractions. The band experiments with new modes throughout, from dark dance grooves to arcing acoustic grandeur, creating what they describe as cinematic mystical punk.

The sleeve pockets are pink flood printed, and the vinyl is housed in a printed inner sleeve.
