Altin Gn built their reputation reinterpreting Turkish folk music through a psychedelic rock lens, and Garip is their most focused statement yet. Released February 20, 2026, via ATO Records, the Amsterdam-based quintet’s sixth album is a full-length tribute to Neet Erta, a revered Turkish singer and balama virtuoso whose folk-bard tradition stretched back centuries. Altin Gn earned a Grammy nomination for Best World Music Album with their 2019 LP Gece, and Garip finds them returning to the Anatolian source with even greater depth.

All ten tracks are Erta compositions reimagined through Altin Gn’s ever-shifting sonic palette. Lead single “Neredesin Sen” delivers a swirling motorik groove filtered through Turkish folk melody, while “ldrme Beni” pushes deeper into psychedelic rock territory. “Benim Yarim” brings lush Arabesque string arrangements and saxophone bursts that give the album its widest emotional range. Vocalist and balama player Erdin Ecevit grew up listening to Erta through his grandparents’ cassettes, and that personal connection is felt throughout.
