Description
Originally conceived as a companion to 1998’s groundbreaking Ray of Light, Madonna’s Veronica Electronica finally sees release over 27 years after the Queen of Pop first envisioned it. Named after an alter ego Madonna created during the Ray of Light sessions (taking one of her confirmation names), this eight-track remix collection was shelved when the parent album became a cultural phenomenon, selling over 16 million copies worldwide and earning four Grammy Awards including Best Pop Album. This Ultra-Clear vinyl edition arrived October 10, 2025, via Warner Records, bringing the long-rumored project to life with newly edited club remixes and one previously unreleased demo.
The collection features hard-hitting dance floor reworks from legendary producers who helped define late 1990s club culture. “Skin” gets transformed through Peter Rauhofer and Victor Calderone’s Collaboration Remix Edit, while BT and Sasha’s Bucklodge Ashram New Edit of “Drowned World / Substitute for Love” opens the EP. The Club 69 Speed Mix Meets the Dub version of “Nothing Really Matters” ventures into trance territory, and Victor Calderone’s Future New Edit of “Sky Fits Heaven” delivers pure adrenaline. The Widescreen Mix and Drums version of “Frozen” accentuates the track’s Middle Eastern influences, while Fabien’s Good God Mix Edit gives “The Power of Good-Bye” a drum and bass overhaul. Rounding out the collection is “Gone Gone Gone,” an original demo from the Ray of Light sessions produced with Rick Nowels that debuted at number 72 on the UK Singles Downloads Chart.
Pressed on Ultra-Clear vinyl, this limited edition captures the full dynamic range of remixes that take Ray of Light‘s ethereal spirituality directly to the dance floor. The pressing includes a glossy inner sleeve with credits and maintains the stark, minimalist aesthetic of photographs from Madonna’s January 1998 session with Inez and Vinoodh. This edition delivers pristine clarity across all eight tracks, from the Sasha Twilo Mix Edit of “Ray of Light” to the epic club anthems that defined an era when Madonna reinvented herself as Veronica Electronica.
