Incense And Peppermints marked one of psychedelias rare moments at the top of the charts. The title track skyrocketed to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1967 with the album reaching #11 on the Billboard 200. Along with Incense And Peppermints, two other tracks from the album (The Worlds On Fire and Rainy Day Mushroom Pillow) were featured in the 1968 counterculture-era movie, Psych-Out, starring Jack Nicholson. Incense And Peppermints, would also later appear in the 1997 comedy, Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery.
